The Day does not require an account and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking. User-created records, notes, selected photos, and saved locations are not uploaded to our servers. Optional features may access iOS Photos, Location Services, and Apple Maps only when you choose to use them.

1Information Handled by the App

The Day lets you create countdown records that may include a title, date, recurrence setting, tag, note, display order, selected background photo, and optional location. These items are processed by the app to provide its features and are stored in the app's local storage on your device. The developer cannot access them.

2Photos

If you choose a background photo, The Day requests access to your photo library. Only the photo you select is copied, resized, and stored in the app's local storage. It is not uploaded to the developer or used for advertising, analytics, or tracking. You can change or revoke photo access at any time in iOS Settings.

3Location and Maps

Location is optional. When you open the place picker or ask the app to locate your current position, The Day may request permission to access your location while the app is in use. A location you confirm, including its coordinates and displayed place label, is stored with the related record on your device.

You can deny location permission and still use the main countdown features. You may also choose a place manually on the map or leave the location empty.

The map and address lookup use Apple Maps and Apple system location services. These services may require an internet connection and may process map or coordinate requests under Apple's privacy policy. The developer does not receive those requests. Learn more at Apple Privacy.

4Local Storage and Device Backups

Your records and app preferences are stored inside the app's local storage. Selected background photos are stored in the app's documents directory. The Day does not operate a server that receives this content.

Depending on your iOS and iCloud Backup settings, locally stored app data may be included in an encrypted device backup managed by Apple. The developer cannot access or control your Apple backup.

5Network, Analytics, and Tracking

The Day does not use advertising networks, analytics services, tracking technologies, cookies, or developer-operated accounts and servers. The app is built with Expo, React Native, and related software libraries, but it does not intentionally integrate advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Network access may still occur when iOS or Apple Maps provides map tiles, location services, address lookup, or when you open an external link such as this Privacy Policy.

6Data Sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or share your countdown records, notes, selected photos, saved locations, or device identifiers. Because this content is not sent to the developer, the developer cannot use it for advertising or profiling.

7Retention, Deletion, and Permissions

• You can delete an individual record inside the app.
• You can use User & Settings → Data Clear → Clear All Records to remove all records and their stored background photos from the installed app.
• You can revoke Photos or Location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
• Uninstalling the app removes its data from that installation. Copies already contained in an Apple-managed device backup remain subject to your Apple and iCloud settings.

8Children's Privacy

The Day does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other user. The app has no account system, advertising, public profile, chat, or social sharing service.

9Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
